EOTP Madden 21 Launch

Hey everybody, it’s about time we get things started for Madden 21.

We’ll be jumping right into the franchise after some preliminary setup with the most up-to-date rosters from EA.

First thing is for everybody to fill out a league application so that we can get teams assigned and figure out the open spots for recruiting purposes.

Fill out a league application here!

As soon as teams are decided we’ll create a new league and invites will be sent out to everybody. From there we’ll start with FA bidding, recruiting and revising rules/sliders throughout the preseason before finalizing for week 1 of the regular season.

Stay tuned to chat for further updates as we get started up!

EOTP Plans for Madden 21

A quick note before we get into the Madden 21 plans for EOTP Madden: we will be playing out the current season of the Madden 20 franchise. Those who are in playoff contention are expected to schedule and play out the rest of the season/postseason. This will take approximately two weeks to complete.

It’s just about that time of year! The official Madden 21 release day is just around the corner on August 28. For those of you who happen to have any of the early access options expect the rest of us to be asking plenty of questions and be looking for streams of the game.

The big question that is likely on everybody’s mind at this moment is when will we be picking teams and starting up the franchise? The short answer is that we won’t be starting up immediately.

Why’s that? Well, there’s a few reasons really. First off it’s well known there’s issues with Madden at release. Taking a few weeks to test out the new game and EA’s response via tuning updates or title updates will make sure we’re not starting the franchise only to restart shortly afterwards. We made this mistake last year and it’s never a fun one to correct after the fact.

Additionally, there’s no word on whether EA is updating the Madden Companion App or releasing a new app for Madden 21 at this time. This means any third party site like DaddyLeagues will be relatively useless at launch. We’ll know more on this front once EA and/or DaddyLeagues provides an update.

So, instead, we’ll be running a test league that I expect everybody to participate in so that gameplay and franchise rules can be finalized for once we’re starting up the main franchise. At that point we’ll pick and lock in teams for the franchise after everybody gets a better idea of Madden 21.

For all who participate in the test league there will be in-game rewards for the main franchise. It will also help in team selection as it shows you’re committed to the league and willing to work with our admin team to solidify rules before the main franchise starts up.

I’m not going to commit to a time frame on any steps towards launching EOTP Madden 21 at this particular time – but I do fully expect to get the test league up and running within a couple of days of finishing up our run in Madden 20.

Please stay tuned to chat for further updates!

Offseason 53 Schedule

Congrats to Ismith93 on his 20-13 EOTP Madden Bowl LIII victory over LYFESENTENCE!

We’ll tentatively be following the below schedule for the offseason. I will be tagging everybody in chat to update you on the schedule as we advance.

We will be advancing past re-signs at 11:59 PM Eastern on Monday night (Jul. 6).

For this offseason the maximum contract length that can be offered is five years. If you surpass this number the contract will be edited to one year at the same total amount as punishment.

If all teams have completed their re-signings quickly (prior to the deadline) we’ll be able to advance to free agency early to extend the first free agency week.

We’ll be using both a revised system for free agency and a slower schedule for this offseason. Make sure to follow the below rules or you will be penalized for every player illegally signed:

  • The maximum contract length allowed is five years
  • The maximum bid amount is 150 points
  • The minimum bid amount is 30 points

Admins will be watching bids prior to every advance to ensure these three rules are followed. The advances will be spaced out more than previous offseasons to make sure all teams have an opportunity to put in multiple bids.

All listed advances are within 15 minutes of the posted time to avoid blatant bid sniping:

  • First Advance: Tuesday (Jul. 7) 11:59 PM Eastern
  • Second Advance: Wednesday (Jul. 8) 8 PM Eastern
  • Third Advance: Wednesday (Jul. 8) 11:59 PM Eastern

The 2020 NFL Draft will be split into two nights this offseason:

  • Rounds 1 & 2: Thursday Jul. 9 at 9:00 PM Eastern
  • Rounds 3-7: Friday Jul. 10 at 9:00 PM Eastern

There will be posts in the Announcements channel within Discord to RSVP for either night – make sure to indicate if you will be attending so that admins know whether to sim picks and keep the draft moving.

There will be an EOTP Draft Broadcast for Thursday night – further details will be posted in the Discord chat.

  • Position changes must be posted and approved in the Position Changes channel before being processed in-game.
  • The EOTP Regression System is back for another offseason – submit a regression review here for each player.
  • Trades are to be sent to the commissioner by both teams to be reviewed and approved by the trade committee. Please note that if the trade details are not exact, including the full player name/position and any pick information, it will slow down the review process.

Please note that further communications during the offseason will be posted in the Discord chat for quick dissemination. We may also announce rule changes leading into the upcoming season – if you have any suggestions please talk to an admin so it can be put to a committee discussion/vote.

Rookie Restart Startup

Welcome back to EOTP!

At the time of this posting invites will be going out to everybody currently assigned to a team. Make sure to follow the below rules when joining the franchise:

  • Create a new coach (DO NOT SELECT AN EXISTING COACH)
  • You may edit your depth charts and discuss trades

We will be doing free agency bidding for the abundance of players currently in the FA pool – the rules for this bidding will be posted in the Discord server once we are at (or near) league capacity for owners.

Below is the current list of league members. I will be updating this as people join the league and as people join in-franchise.

EOTP Rookie Restart Launch

Hey everybody, the 2020 NFL Draft is over and that means we’re going to get back up and running with updated rosters.

Due to time constraints we’re going to be using an updated roster with about 150+ rookies but does not include UDFA or late rounders. This is across the board and I did not add any rookies as a favor to one team or another. DaddyLeagues has already been updated with the rosters so that everybody is aware of what they’re getting before they choose a team. Please be aware that the front page is still being reformatted but the menu bar and team pages are all functional.

Additionally, there have been some rule updates that everybody should be aware of – please review the rules when you have a few moments.

Lastly, everybody must fill out a new league application. We’ll be looking to fill teams first with current and former EOTP league members before doing external recruiting.

League Announcement

First off, I would like to say congrats to Warren on his 38-13 victory over Camp in EOTP Bowl LII!

Now for some league news of some importance. We’ve had a rough time getting through Madden 20, there’s no denying that. This is undoubtedly one of the least favorite Madden releases in the history of our league and a dwindling franchise community makes finding replacement players difficult (to say the least).

Rather than continuing with our current franchise or immediately restarting just to pickup a handful of new people, I’ve decided that it’s in the best interest of EOTP to take a break. During this break we’re going to re-evaluate what works and doesn’t work with EOTP in order to come back renewed and built to last for Madden 20 and for as long as people are interested in playing Madden as part of this league.

As of this moment, the plan is to run a league shortly after the NFL Draft occurs with updated rosters (including rookies). The goal is to bring in some new blood with this franchise, play several seasons leading up to the next Madden release and bring that momentum into the new franchise for Madden 21 (or whatever the title ends up being called).

For anybody interested in becoming a larger part of EOTP during this phase and moving forward, we will be looking to fill several admin roles that were recently vacated. We’ll also be looking for help in setting up the next franchise leading up to and following the 2020 NFL Draft.

During this hiatus we’ll be keeping the Discord chat up and running and both the DaddyLeagues site and this WordPress site will stay up in one form or another – although you’ll likely notice some changes being made. I encourage everybody to check in periodically to keep up with any updates about the league.

Preseason 51 FA & Schedule

Preseason Schedule is as follows:

  • Advance to Pre-Week 2: 11:59 PM Eastern Friday 12/06
  • Advance to Pre-Week 3: 8 PM Eastern Saturday 12/07
  • Advance to Pre-Week 4: 10 PM Eastern Saturday 12/07
  • Advance to Regular Season: 11:59 PM Eastern Saturday 12/07

Do not sign ANY FA on Friday! Make sure to cut down your roster to 63 (53 plus 10 practice squad players) by Saturday night.

If you have roster minimums you need to fill contact an admin and they will supply you with a really bad player from FA (no handouts, so don’t think just because you don’t have a punter you get the best in FA).

FA Rules

We will NOT be doing a FA draft this preseason. Instead, we will bid on players. The best contract gets the player!

This will take into account contract length, bonus amount and salary amount. Winning contracts will be posted Friday night at 11:59 PM Eastern. These players will be reserved to that team until advance to the regular season – if not signed they’re fair game week 1 of the regular season.

Minimum Bid: 550k per season

Submit Your Bids Here

After the first day of bidding we will immediately revert to 24 hour waivers since so many players were sniped last year during preseason.

Activity Bonuses

In addition, we’re rewarding everybody who played at least 13 games last season (and did not miss any events or violate any rules) with a single player bump from normal to star development. Please alert an admin of your choice and we’ll make the change. Full list of eligible people and selected players is below.

  • Bizekidz (Titans) – CB Jermarcus Powers
  • Campstar25 (Browns) – LOLB Sione Takitaki

Offseason 51 Schedule

Congrats to Warren on his 79-23 EOTP Madden Bowl LI victory over Lynx!

We’ll tentatively be following the below schedule for the offseason. I will be tagging everybody in chat to update you on the schedule as we advance.

If everybody completes their re-signings quickly we’ll be able to advance to free agency early.

We will be advancing past re-signs Tuesday (12/03) night at 11:59 PM Eastern.

For this offseason, the maximum contract length you can offer is five years.

We’ll be using a revised system for free agency this offseason. Make sure to follow the below rules or you will be directed to release any players you sign:

  • The maximum contract length allowed is five years
  • The maximum bid amount is 150 points
  • The minimum bid amount is 30 points

Admins will be watching bids prior to every advance to ensure these three rules are followed. Any players signed to contracts that violate these rules must be immediately released.

Get your bids in early and often leading up to the first advance if you’re really worried about losing out on players – many high profile players now sign on the first FA advance.

All listed advances are within 15 minutes of the posted time to avoid blatant sniping.

  • First Advance: Wednesday (12/04) 8 PM Eastern
  • Second Advance: Wed. 10 PM Eastern
  • Third Advance: Wed. 11:59 PM Eastern

The 2020 NFL Draft will be held at 9:00 PM Eastern on Thursday Dec. 5.

The first round I will be giving people 5 minutes per pick if they want it to negotiate trades – if you want to pick quicker feel free. Each round after that I will skip people who either A) did not show for their first round pick or B) did not RSVP for the draft and are not active in the chat at the time. Rounds 2-7 will proceed at normal pick clock.

As mentioned above, please RSVP to the draft post in the scheduling thread to indicate either attending or not attending.

Remember that all trades require approval from the committee so be prepared for late trades to take some time to be approved.

Due to the addition of abilities for superstar and X-factor players, position changes were completely removed for season 1 as we decided how to handle things. We changed this for season 2 after some deliberation.

The Position Changes channel in Discord is for submitting position changes. The full rules are pinned in the Position Changes channel. You will be expected to wait for approval before making any changes in the franchise. Additionally, superstar and X-factor players will still not be permitted to change positions in any way due to abilities.

Failure to follow these rules will result in severe punishments. Any superstar or X-factor moved will have their development dropped to normal (for superstar) and star (for X-factor) with an additional rating penalty to be handled on a player by player basis.

Simply put, do not make any position changes without admin approval.

As always, we’re looking to make changes to improve EOTP season to season. We’re making a few adjustments to league operations for the upcoming season as a result of user and admin feedback.

Effective immediately, trades will be submitted directly to Violent, our chief trade officer. Both users must still submit their trades with all details (including full name and position for players; year, round and team for draft picks). Our goal is to decrease the amount of time between trade submission and review.

Additionally, depth chart exceptions for Rush DE and Sub-LB (required for all pass rushing OLBs to play Rush DE and safeties to play Sub-LB2/3) are to be posted for approval in the Position Changes channel in Discord rather than submitted via form on the website. This is also being done to speed up the process of approvals.

We will be keeping a closer eye on depth charts for this upcoming season. If you are not familiar with the depth chart rules I would recommend reading through the league rules once again to make sure your depth chart is in compliance.

We may announce additional changes and rule edits prior to the season’s start. If you have any suggestions or comments about the existing set of rules, please talk to an admin and we can discuss it as a committee.
